Resolving Menu Navigation Problems

Menu navigation issues can disrupt your website’s user experience and prevent visitors from accessing important pages. This guide explains how to identify and resolve common menu navigation problems in the DigiFusion theme.

Check Menu Assignment

Navigate to Appearance > Menus in your WordPress dashboard. Ensure your menu is properly assigned to the correct menu location.

Select your menu from the dropdown and verify it’s assigned to Primary Menu in the Menu Settings section at the bottom of the page.

If no menu is assigned, select your desired menu and check the Primary Menu checkbox, then click Save Menu.

Verify Menu Items Display

Go to Appearance > Menus and expand each menu item to check their settings.

Ensure the Navigation Label field contains the text you want to display in your menu. Empty labels will cause menu items to appear blank.

Check that the URL field contains the correct link destination for each menu item.

Fix Menu Structure Issues

Review your menu hierarchy in the menu editor. Menu items that are improperly nested may not display correctly.

Drag menu items to the correct position. Sub-menu items should be slightly indented under their parent items.

Remove any duplicate or broken menu items that might interfere with navigation functionality.

Resolve Mobile Menu Problems

If your mobile menu isn’t working, clear your browser cache and check if the issue persists.

Navigate to Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS and ensure no custom CSS is hiding the mobile menu toggle button.

Test the mobile menu on different devices to confirm it’s functioning properly across all screen sizes.

Clear Menu Cache

If you’re using a caching plugin, clear all caches after making menu changes.

Navigate to your caching plugin’s settings and purge the cache, or use the clear cache option in your WordPress admin bar if available.

Refresh your website’s frontend to verify that menu changes are now visible.

Reset Menu Settings

Go to Appearance > Menus and delete the problematic menu.

Create a new menu with the same name and add your pages and links again.

Assign the new menu to the Primary Menu location and save your changes.

This fresh menu setup often resolves persistent navigation issues that other solutions cannot fix.
