DigiFusion Pro includes an AI-powered writing assistant that integrates with OpenAI’s ChatGPT to help you generate content directly in your WordPress editor. To use this feature, you need to configure your OpenAI API key.
Getting Your OpenAI API Key
Visit the OpenAI platform at https://platform.openai.com/api-keys and log into your account. If you don’t have an account, you’ll need to create one first.
Navigate to the API Keys section in your dashboard. Click “Create new secret key” to generate a new API key for your WordPress site.
Copy the generated API key immediately, as OpenAI will only display it once. The key format starts with “sk-” followed by a long string of characters.
Configuring the API Key in DigiFusion
Access your WordPress admin dashboard and go to DigiFusion → Write with AI. This will open the AI settings page where you can configure your OpenAI integration.
Locate the “AI Settings” section and ensure the “Enable Write with AI” toggle is activated. This enables the AI writing assistant feature across your site.
In the “AI Provider” dropdown, select “OpenAI (ChatGPT)” as your preferred AI service.
Find the “OpenAI API Key” field and paste your API key. The field is password-protected by default – click the eye icon to toggle visibility if needed to verify your key was entered correctly.
Set your preferred “Max Tokens” value. This controls the maximum length of AI-generated content. For most use cases, values between 500-2000 tokens work well. Higher values allow longer content but consume more API credits.
Selecting Post Types
Choose which post types should have access to the AI writing assistant. By default, the feature is enabled for posts, but you can extend it to pages, custom post types, or any other content type on your site.
Click on the post types dropdown and select all the content types where you want the AI writing assistant to appear in the editor.
Saving Your Configuration
Click “Save AI Settings” to store your configuration. The system will validate your API key automatically to ensure it’s working correctly.
Once saved, the AI writing assistant will appear as a button in your post editor for the selected post types. You can now use the “Write with AI” feature to generate content using OpenAI’s language models.
API Key Security
Your API key is stored securely in your WordPress database and is never displayed in plain text after initial setup. Only users with administrator privileges can view or modify the API key configuration.
The integration uses OpenAI’s latest models and follows their usage guidelines to ensure optimal performance and compliance with OpenAI’s terms of service.
