When switching to DigiFusion from another WordPress theme, you might encounter conflicts or issues. These problems typically occur due to leftover settings, cached data, or plugin configurations from your previous theme.
Clear All Caching
Navigate to any caching plugin you have installed (WP Rocket, WP Fastest Cache, WP Super Cache) and clear all cache files. If you’re using a CDN service like Cloudflare, purge the cache there as well.
For server-level caching, contact your hosting provider to clear any server cache.
Reset WordPress Customizer Settings
Go to Appearance > Customize in your WordPress dashboard. Some settings from your previous theme might still be active and conflicting with DigiFusion’s styling.
Navigate through each Customizer section and either reset values to default or configure them to match DigiFusion’s design system.
Pay special attention to Typography, Colors, and Layout sections that might override DigiFusion’s built-in styling.
Deactivate Conflicting Plugins
Certain plugins designed for specific themes can cause conflicts. Common problematic plugins include:
Theme-specific customization plugins from your previous theme should be deactivated. These often have names containing your old theme’s name.
Generic styling plugins that modify CSS globally might interfere with DigiFusion’s design. Temporarily deactivate plugins that modify fonts, colors, or layouts.
Page builder plugins other than Elementor might conflict with DigiFusion’s builder system. If you’re not using them, consider deactivating.
Fix Widget Area Issues
Navigate to Appearance > Widgets. Remove any widgets that were specific to your previous theme’s widget areas.
Some widgets might display incorrectly due to different CSS classes. Check each widget area and reconfigure widgets as needed.
If certain widget areas don’t appear, they might be named differently in DigiFusion. Check the theme documentation for correct widget area names.
Resolve Menu Display Problems
Go to Appearance > Menus. Your existing menus should work, but their styling might appear different.
Check that your menus are assigned to the correct menu locations. DigiFusion uses “Primary Menu” and “Footer Menu” locations.
If menu items appear unstyled, clear your cache and check for CSS conflicts from plugins or custom CSS.
Address Custom CSS Conflicts
Navigate to Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS. Review any custom CSS from your previous theme setup.
CSS selectors targeting your old theme’s classes won’t work with DigiFusion. Update selectors to target DigiFusion’s CSS classes.
Remove or modify CSS that targets specific theme elements that don’t exist in DigiFusion.
Fix Plugin Styling Issues
Some plugins might have styling specifically designed for your previous theme. Check each plugin’s settings for theme-specific styling options.
Popular plugins like WooCommerce, Contact Form 7, or Yoast SEO might need their styling refreshed or reconfigured.
If a plugin has theme compatibility settings, ensure DigiFusion or “Default” is selected.
