Creating Custom Headers with Site Builder

The Site Builder allows you to design completely custom headers that replace your theme’s default header. You can create headers with any layout, styling, and functionality using either Gutenberg blocks or Elementor.

Creating a New Header

Navigate to DigiFusion > Site Builder in your WordPress dashboard and click Add New.

Enter a title for your header in the post title field. This title is for your reference only and won’t appear on the front end.

In the Builder Settings sidebar on the right, set the Builder Type to Header.

Designing Your Header

Design your header content using the DigiBlocks or Elementor, depending on your preference. You can add any blocks or elements including:

  • Logo/site title
  • Navigation menus
  • Search forms
  • Contact information
  • Social media icons
  • Custom HTML or widgets

The header content will span the full width of your site, so consider your layout accordingly.

Configuring Display Rules

Set where your custom header should appear using the Display Rules section:

Entire Site: Your header will replace the default header across your entire website.

Specific Pages: Choose specific pages, post types, or conditions where the header should appear. You can include or exclude specific:

  • Individual posts or pages
  • Post types (posts, pages, products)
  • Taxonomies (categories, tags)
  • Archive pages
  • Special pages (homepage, 404, search results)

Setting Header as Fixed

Enable the Fixed Header option in the Builder Settings to make your header sticky. This keeps the header visible at the top of the screen when users scroll down the page.

Fixed headers automatically add the necessary CSS classes and JavaScript for smooth scrolling behavior.

Publishing Your Header

Click Publish to activate your custom header. If you set display rules for the entire site, your custom header will immediately replace the default theme header.

Only one header can be active for any given page. If multiple headers have overlapping display rules, the most recently published header takes priority.

Managing Multiple Headers

You can create different headers for different sections of your site by using specific display rules. For example:

  • One header for your homepage
  • Another header for your blog pages
  • A different header for your shop pages

Each header can have completely different designs, layouts, and functionality to match the specific needs of each section.
